Negotiated e-mod changes extended to July 1, 2019

The Texas Department of Insurance has extended the ruling on negotiated e-mods. As a result, workers' compensation carriers writing business in Texas will no longer be authorized to negotiate e-mods effective July 1, 2019, postponing the effective date by one year.

Insurance carriers use e-mods to determine accurate workers' compensation rates for companies in similar industries.

We’ll keep you informed of this change as the date approaches, and in the meantime, we encourage all companies to take a broader look at safety beyond e-mods. Texas Mutual's safety services team is here to help. Our safety consultants and outreach center are available at 844-WORKSAFE (967-5723), and you can also log in to texasmutual.com to access e-Learning and our safety resource center.
