Negotiated e-mods going away

Effective July 1, 2018, workers' compensation carriers writing business in Texas will no longer be authorized to negotiate e-mods. While e-mods don't always paint a clear picture of the safety of employers, they do provide insurance companies with a generalized assessment of where a company ranks within a classification code containing similar businesses for the purposes of determining accurate workers' compensation rates. 

We encourage all companies to take a broader look at safety beyond e-mods, but especially for those who may be impacted by the NCCI change, Texas Mutual's safety services team is here to help. Texas Mutual promotes Jeanette Ward to COO

We are proud to share that one of our longest-tenured employees, Jeanette Ward, has named chief operating officer. Jeanette joined Texas Mutual in November 1993 and has since served in a variety of roles, starting at the company as a business analyst and most recently serving as senior vice president of policyholder services.

With her years of experience, Jeanette understands the workers’ compensation market, and what employers need to take care of their businesses and people.

Jeanette has been instrumental in leading Texas Mutual's innovation over the years and will continue to do so in her new role.
